There's all kinds of things that we, the Church, are called to do, but behind all of it lies the call to pray. In Ephesians 6:18, we read these words:

"...pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this is mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people."

There's a few things ahead of us as a local church and as a denomination that I want to invite you to pray for. Let me share them with you...

  1. Sexuality, Sex & Gender: On Wednesday 24 May (7.30pm), we'll host an evening to talk about how the Bible and the People of God respond to these cultural questions, which can stir strong opinions and emotions. Pray for us as we prepare, pray for yourself, and pray for one another as we reflect on some of the challenging questions of our time.
  2. Nazarene General Assembly 2023: In June our denomination will host the 30th International Assembly of the Church. In preparation for this, our global leaders invite us to join with our Nazarene brothers and sisters around the world to pray for the Assembly. The General Assembly is both a celebration but also a conversation - we celebrate God's goodness and faithfulness as a church; and we talk about how God is leading and guiding us as a church - who we are and what we are called to do in this generation. These are important times and we invite you to pray ahead of the Assembly.

There's always much to pray for in our lives personally and collectively, and so thank you for being a praying people, and thank you for joining in praying for what is ahead.

Grace & Peace
